The MPA is looking to mimic mp3 battles

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/4508158.stm

The Music Publisher's Association is looking to shutdown any services that collect or distribute music online. You non musicians might not think this is a big deal, but imagine a world where the only way your friends could have played Dave Mathews Band for you in college was if they dropped 50 bones for the sheet music, or if they figured it out themselves. In addition they are also trying to quell the sharing of song lyrics! That's right SONG LYRICS! So if you want to know the words to a song you'll have to buy them or figure it out yourself.

The music industry is losing their fucking minds. They all want more money, and keep sighting this lost income to online sharing. Most of the people wouldn't go out and buy this shit anyway. Currently it's a matter of convenience. If you're curious about a song you're listening to, that you probably bought, you do a quick google search, or use something like PearlLyrics but nooooo not now. You're stealing money from the pockets of musicians... I bet they'd even go so far as to claim that you're helping support terrorists, remember those anti-drug commercials our beloved white house put out not too long ago. We all know how that turned out, it looks as though we're the ones terrorizing the world.

Where is it going to end. Since when is art about being rich?
