The ramblings and adventures of a wanderer.

Well I got my first dose of excitement here in Downtown Lincoln. I was going to Runza's to get Meg a runza and fries while she worked on her paper. I figured I'd ride my bike, which has nonthing to do with the story but is an interesting point because the weather has been absolutely beautiful lately, and as I left my building and began riding down the street I saw two people leaning over something. They were wearing running attire, and even seemed to be a bit sweaty from the now paued jog. This man and woman were quite preoccupied with a gentleman laying on the sidewalk. But this wasn't your normal laying on the sidewalk. You know the this looks like a good place for me to lay down and take a nap. It was more of a errrr my brain is ceasing to function and I'm falling *blackness laying on the sidewalk. So I stopped. I looked at the two people they looked at me then they looked at the guy laying down. Then I hear a voice. On the screened in porch directly behind me are two people. The lady yells out across the street, "Thank You." Now if you saw these people you would say. Oh they must be friends of that dead/passed out/ whatever he is guy. So I assumed everything was under control and went on my merry way. Runza was great for a wednesday afternoon. It smelled of it's usual cabbage and ground mystery beef concoction. I went home. On the sidewalk still lay our mystery guest. But we added another stranger. This young man seemed to be embracing the old man like a daughter would a dying father, but from her trendy clothes I doubted that these two shared any DNA. So I did what any curious human would do. I went inside. I dropped of the Ruunza's grabbed my still cooking hot dogs a paper plate and my camera and went and sat on my front step. The man was drunk as a mother *censored*ing skunk. Not just drunk, but drunk like if he wasn''t an alcoholiuc for the past 20 years that level of alcohol would kill him. So he stumbled onto the stretcher and they took him away for a little nap in detox.
